Recent scientific research shows that the pitch of our voice (how high or low it is) is one of the main factors that determines how attractive our voice is likely to seem to listeners.

In men, lower pitched voices are perceived as being more attractive (by women and men) whereas in women higher-pitched voices are usually rated as more attractive (by men and women). However, extremely low pitches in men or extremely high pitches in women are likely to sound funny, and therefore are perceived as being unattractive.
